Prior to joining Baxley Properties, Barney spent the preceding twenty-five years with Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. serving as a broker and in leadership positions including Executive Vice President and head of U.S. industrial brokerage, and Executive Vice President and head of Global Corporate Services.  He was a member of the company’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Global Management Committee.

 With over 36 years in industrial and commercial real estate, Barney has extensive experience representing a broad spectrum of corporate, institutional and private investor clients with new site or facility acquisition, surplus property disposal, land assemblage for development, new development project marketing, financing and investment property sales.

 Barney is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and has served as President of the Northern California Chapter.  He is a   member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), currently serving as an Industrial and  Office Park Council member, and has previously served on the Corporate Real Estate Council.  As a member of CoreNet Global and its predecessor, the International Development Research Council (IDRC), he served on the Research Foundation Board of Directors as Co-Chair of the Leadership Development Committee and on the Financial Review Board.  In addition, he served as a member of the Board on Certification for Corporate Real Estate (BCCR) Board of Directors.
